Visitor Wi-Fi that satisfies your auditor and your patients' families.
OTP login over SMS, per-visitor bandwidth caps, full session and NAT logging, and complete separation from your clinical network. Deployed on hardware you may already own.
Defaults we deploy unless your policy says otherwise. Every value is configurable.
How it works
Four steps, about thirty seconds
The visitor never installs anything. The portal appears by itself on iPhone, Android and Windows.
STEP 1
Connect
Visitor joins your guest SSID. Their phone detects the portal and opens it automatically.
STEP 2
Enter mobile
Your branded page asks for a mobile number and consent to your terms.
STEP 3
Receive OTP
A one-time password arrives by SMS from your registered sender ID.
STEP 4
Online
Access granted, rate-limited, time-boxed, and logged against the verified number.
Why hospitals ask for this
Open Wi-Fi is a liability you can't audit
Attribution, not anonymity
Every session ties to an SMS-verified mobile number
NAT translations logged with timestamps, so a port maps back to a device months later
Retention configurable to your legal advice — 365 days by default
Your clinical network stays untouched
Guests land on an isolated VLAN with no route to hospital systems
Firewall blocks guest traffic to management and clinical subnets
Bandwidth caps stop visitors saturating a shared uplink
It looks like your hospital
Your logo, colours, and welcome message on the login page
Your terms and privacy policy, shown before consent
SMS arrives from your registered sender ID, not ours
Runs on standard hardware
MikroTik RouterOS — often already in the building
Works with any access points that support 802.1Q VLAN tagging
No per-device licensing, no proprietary controller
Coverage
Where it usually goes in
Most sites start where families wait longest — billing, TPA and OPD — then extend floor by floor. The same portal and policy apply everywhere — one login covers the whole campus.
OPD & waiting halls
Where dwell time is longest and complaints start. Usually the first area covered.
Billing & discharge
The longest queues in the building. Wi-Fi is the cheapest thing you can give a waiting family.
TPA & insurance desk
Approvals can run for hours. Attendants are stuck there and have nothing to do but wait.
Wards & attendant areas
Relatives staying overnight are the heaviest users. Bandwidth caps matter most here.
Reception & lobby
First impression of the hospital. A branded portal does quiet reputational work.
Canteen & common areas
Staff and visitors mix here, so isolation from the clinical VLAN earns its keep.
Before we begin
What we'll need from you
Nothing here is unusual, but a few items have lead times — DLT registration in particular can take a couple of weeks, so it's worth starting early. If you're unsure about any of it, say so in the form and we'll work it out together.
Network hardware Required
A MikroTik router running RouterOS 7 (we can advise on a model)
Access points that support 802.1Q VLAN tagging
A free switch port for the guest trunk
Connectivity Required
An internet uplink with at least one static public IP
Bandwidth you're willing to allocate to visitors
A spare private subnet for the guest VLAN
Domain & DNS Required
A domain you control, for the portal address
Ability to add DNS records — needed for the TLS certificate
SMS & DLT Required in India
DLT registration with your entity ID
A six-character sender ID (e.g. MYHOSP)
An SMS gateway account with credit
An approved OTP message template
Policy decisions We can advise
Devices per visitor, session length, bandwidth cap
How long logs must be retained
Whether staff get a separate, longer-lived login
Branding & content We can advise
Logo file and preferred colours
Welcome text for the login page
Your terms of use and privacy notice
